No more relatives & guests in the house every day.
It's a bit like getting off drugs. Sure, they're good for a while, but then it just starts to make you sick. Then, when you stop taking them, it hurts a bit before you get to the sunshine.
Anyhooo, just kind of getting maudlin about everyone leaving...
Thought I'd jot down a few things that come to mind thinking about our time with Mssr. Nicolas Gallo. Start planting those happy memories for the future.

----------------------
No soccer, thankee very much. He's a golfer! Brought $1500 in clubs, golf shoes and a few t-shirts and board shorts.
He also doesn't drink coffee. Until he tried Nespresso! Suddenly it was 3-5 espressos a day and our little machine was heavin' with caffeine for Fuzzy, me, Ann and Nicolas.
And pop. He doesn't drink pop. But he *loves* Diet Cherry Pepsi. I almost started calling him Six Pack Soda kid. But that would've been weird, so I didn't.
His English, fortunately, was good enough for us to have some fun with sarcasm and all those things that make life worth living for me. That was good.
Nico was big on physical activity, although the last day or two he was worn out from the constant swimming, biking down to the recreation center, hitting golf balls, lifting weights, working out with the swim team, going to the Splash and Aquarium and Water World and slip 'n' slide in the backyard and every other wet thing we could think of.
And he rode. Sometimes around town, sometimes to the Farmer's Market, but mostly with me (and Liam) down to Vincenza's Italian deli. It's a new place downtown here in Golden and he couldn't resist the hot sausage sandwich.
Every. Single. Day. At least once. In fact, one day we hit their deli for lunch and then went to the main Vincenza's restaurant in Lakewood for dinner!
And boy did we play Metroid Prime on the N64 like madmen! Of course, Nico couldn't stand my handling in the powerball mode, so he'd get antsy and take the controller away.

Nico was also great with the boys, often getting down and playing blocks with them or just hanging out and watching "choo choo" with Liam.... which is to say the Polar Express movie, which they saw about 32 times. I'm not kidding.
Ahhh... It was fun, busy, and exciting, I'll give it that. Sort of an intense bootcamp-style preview for when my own kids are teenagers.
